A Gentle Luxury Retreat in the Uvita Rainforest.

Nestled high above the jungle canopy in Uvita, this project was conceived as a quiet, nature first retreat. Studio Octava collaborated with Rancho Pacífico to create a refined hospitality experience that feels grounded, calm, and deeply connected to its surroundings. The scope included four newly designed treehouses and the thoughtful remodel of an existing villa, all guided by principles of simplicity, longevity, and comfort.

Treehouses Reimagined With Respect for Nature.

The original treehouse structures could not be meaningfully renovated, so they were carefully rethought and largely rebuilt. This allowed us to improve structural performance, comfort, and durability while remaining light on the land. Each treehouse was redesigned to sit gently within the forest, minimizing visual impact and allowing the architecture to quietly coexist with the surrounding vegetation.

Villa Renewal Through Spatial Reconfiguration.

Rather than focusing on cosmetic changes, the villa remodel centered on improving flow, light, and spatial calm. Openings were refined, circulation simplified, and indoor and outdoor spaces more clearly connected. The result is a villa that feels more open and intuitive, offering guests a sense of ease without altering the character of the original building.

Warm Interiors Shaped by Timber and Light.

Wood plays a central role throughout the interiors, creating warmth and a natural sense of enclosure. Timber vaulted ceilings define the main spaces, enhanced by indirect lighting that softens the atmosphere and highlights material textures. The interiors are intentionally toned down in color, allowing the landscape to remain the main visual focus while offering a sense of quiet luxury and comfort.

Bathrooms as Quiet, Contemplative Spaces.

Bathrooms were designed as calm, understated spaces that invite pause and reflection. A simple yet distinctive tile pattern adds depth and character without distraction. Dark, natural tones and minimal detailing create a contemplative atmosphere, inspired by monastic simplicity rather than overt luxury.
