Vista Celestial

Vista Celestial Boutique Hotel is a luxurious hotel located in the heart of the Uvitas rainforest with a direct view of the famous whale’s tale. Recently, the hotel has undergone a major renovation project of all common areas. Our team worked diligently to create a modern and inviting atmosphere that still retains the charm of the original hotel. The renovation included a complete overhaul of the interior and exterior of the common areas, from the lobby to the restaurant, and from the pool to the terrace. The new design features a contemporary aesthetic with a focus on natural materials and colors. The result is a stunning and inviting space that is sure to make guests feel right calm and at peace.

We balanced the hotel owner's vision with budget limits, offering various design options to improve the hotel while considering long-term effects on aesthetics and sustainability. Our redesign aimed to modernize the hotel's outdated look by using local materials for a cost-effective yet high-quality upgrade, maintaining constant communication with the client to meet their expectations. The renovation enhances guest experience and property value, providing exceptional comfort at a competitive price, positioning the hotel favorably in the hospitality market.

Learn more about Vista Celestial, a hotel known for its breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and lush rainforest. It’s your slice of paradise.

A luxury boutique hotel upgrade in the rainforest.

Imagine a small, cozy boutique hotel nestled in the lush greenery of Uvita’s rainforest. Our team at Studio Octava – Architects Costa Rica has helped upgrade this hidden gem. We aimed to make staying here even more magical and comfortable. Each guest room was undergoing a refresh with subtle colors that let the jungle outside take center stage, bringing the tropical paradise right to your window. In 2023, the owners chose to expand and upgrade the restaurant and bar area. The redesign aims to create a haven for guests to enjoy delicious food and refreshing drinks while surrounded by natural beauty. The new features will blend with the existing charm, making every moment luxurious and infused with the rainforest’s spirit.

In the journey of transforming any architectural space, several challenges inevitably surface. Among these, finding a harmonious equilibrium between the financial constraints of the budget and the expansive vision and wishes of the owner often emerges as a paramount concern. Our professional responsibility in this endeavor, while representing Architects Uvita, extended beyond mere design; it was crucial for us to present a plethora of options, meticulously mapping out a diverse array of possibilities that could potentially elevate the hotel to new heights.

As a dedicated team, we conducted a thorough evaluation of each proposed intervention’s impact. This assessment required an in-depth analysis, contemplating not only the immediate effects but also the long-term repercussions on the hotel’s aesthetics, functionality, and its overall environmental footprint. Our goal as Architects Uvita was to ensure that every modification, renovation, or addition would align with both the client’s aspirations and the project’s finite resources, ultimately culminating in an upgraded establishment that would meet, if not exceed, all expectations placed upon us.

In our efforts to enhance the current hotel infrastructure and design, we set out with a clear vision to eradicate the previously outdated and somber brown spaces. Our primary goal was to infuse the atmosphere with a sophisticated blend of modern elements while maintaining a classic tropical essence that resonates with contemporary travelers who come to experience the beauty of Costa Rica.

The design philosophy that guided our approach was to harmonize simplicity with cost-effectiveness. We were meticulous in selecting building materials that would adhere to the budget without compromising on quality or aesthetic appeal. Consequently, we predominantly utilized local hardwoods, known for their durability and warmth, in conjunction with resilient steel, to create an organic yet refined look.

We revitalized the hotel with refined colors, upgraded materials, timber screens, large glazed areas, and indirect light features.

Our team at Studio Octava Uvita Architects dedicated ourselves to the supervision of the construction process. It was imperative to us that every detail was meticulously executed according to our high standards. We maintained an open channel of communication with the client throughout the project to ensure that all expectations were not only met but exceeded. By doing so, we assured a seamless transition from the old to the new, delivering a space that guests would find both inviting and impressive.

With the latest upgrade, we have substantially enhanced the ability of property owners to offer an experience that is not only cost-effective but also outstanding and memorable for their guests. This carefully crafted enhancement focuses on delivering value while never compromising on quality, ensuring that every guest receives exceptional treatment and enjoys an unparalleled level of comfort and satisfaction during their stay. The upgrade thus serves as a powerful tool for proprietors, enabling them to stand out in the competitive hospitality landscape by providing top-tier services at an affordable price point.
